- 2 slices sourdough or whole grain bread
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 ripe avocado
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and tools: frying pan, spatula, cutting board.
- Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, scoop out the flesh, and slice thinly.
- Spread butter generously on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer the shredded cheddar cheese and sliced avocado. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper before topping with the other slice (buttered side out).
- Heat a frying pan over medium heat and place the sandwich inside. Cook until golden brown on one side (3-4 minutes), then flip carefully.
- Cook for another 3-4 minutes until both sides are crispy and cheese is melted. Let cool slightly before slicing diagonally.
