  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and tools: frying pan, spatula, cutting board.
  2. Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, scoop out the flesh, and slice thinly.
  3. Spread butter generously on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer the shredded cheddar cheese and sliced avocado. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper before topping with the other slice (buttered side out).
  5. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and place the sandwich inside. Cook until golden brown on one side (3-4 minutes), then flip carefully.
  6. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until both sides are crispy and cheese is melted. Let cool slightly before slicing diagonally.
