  • 1 cup plain or Italian breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup bell peppers, diced (any color)
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté diced onions and bell peppers until softened.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, sautéed veggies, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread half of the meat mixture in a greased baking dish; top with half of the shredded cheese. Add remaining meat mixture on top.
  5. Spread ketchup evenly over the top and sprinkle remaining cheese.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let cool slightly before serving.
