- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- Wash and pit the cherries; slice in half if desired.
- In a bowl, mix cherries with 1/4 cup sugar and vanilla extract until coated.
- In another bowl, combine flour, oats, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Press half the crumble mixture into the bottom of the prepared dish. Spread cherry filling evenly over it and top with remaining crumble.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown on top and bubbly around edges.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing into squares.
