  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, and eggs until glossy.
  3. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and baking powder; stir until just combined.
  4. Fold in half of the chocolate chips.
  5. In another bowl, cream softened butter with sugars until fluffy; add vanilla and egg.
  6. Incorporate flour and remaining chocolate chips into the cookie dough.
  7. Layer brownie batter in the prepared pan; dollop cookie dough on top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
